Barb is a villain
Sierra (Shannon Purser) is a band geek. She’s a straight A student and her only friend is Dan. Veronica and her two minions are the mean girls. When Jamey approaches Veronica, she gives him Sierra’s number. Jamey starts texting and Sierra catfish him in place of Veronica.
I like Barb. Almost everybody likes Barb. That’s the only reason why Sierra is likeable at all. She is a constant villain in her own story and she doesn’t even know it. I want to change this plot. I need to rewrite this story for Barb’s sake. Although I’m not terribly smart. I couldn’t figure why he didn’t meet her IRL until I finally realize they go to different schools. She starts off as the spunky underdog but quickly her evil reign begins. The friendship with the reformed mean girl is probably the best part of this movie. It’s its only salvation which it manages to screw up with the ending. This is trying to be a modern deconstruction of Cyrano de Bergerac but it does it in all the wrong-headed ways.Read More
