Not a toy story for me
Christopher Robin is a fictionalised account of the real life Christopher Robin Milne, the boy who inspired the Winnie the Pooh stories.

The middle aged Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) is a workaholic who neglects his wife and daughter. He is miserable in his job in a luggage factory where the boss’s son overloads him with work.

One day Winnie the Pooh magically turns up from Hundred Acre Wood and finds the adult Christopher in London. Although Christopher does not want Winnie the Pooh around who causes a commotion with his honey sticky feet and Christopher has to compile a report to downsize the firm. He eventually connects with his childhood and the characters such as Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore that he played with as a child.

I thought Goodbye Christopher Robin was a disappointment but at least it had some semblance to the real life writer A A Milne and his son Christopher Robin.

This movie is a cynical Disney cash grab. Drab and dull, it does grow a little in the second half of the film. It has in its favour the trademarked Disney characters of Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet etc who appear here as CGI.
