A pleasant surprise!
My expectations going into “Just Married” were low. I wasn’t ready for another mediocre romantic comedy with poor writing and no chemistry between the girl and the guy. In fact, we weren’t even planning to see it. But when we arrived at the theater, we found that they had advertised the wrong time for “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.” “Just Married” was the only other movie starting at 3:00 o’clock. But this film turned out to be delightful. Don’t be fooled by the lukewarm reviews. Just Married has good acting, a good script, and great European locations. The two leads were adorable, particularly Brittany Murphy. She reminds me of a young Meg Ryan or a young Goldie Hawn. The chemistry between Ashton Kutcher and Murphy was completely believable. Yes, the trailer for this movie does show many of the humorous parts, but they are even funnier in context. Don’t get me wrong. This is no big budget, best picture nominee. But if you are looking for good entertainment, I highly recommend it. It’s one of the best romantic comedies I’ve seen in years.Read More
