This movie is far from perfect but when else will you see Shaft eaten by a dragon on a skyscraper? Neva.
Q: The Winged Serpent (1982) was a movie I came across of HBOMAX (and is also available on TUBI for free). The storyline involves a colt that conjures a deity in Manhattan that returns to Earth as a dragon . The dragon feeds on people and plans to birth offspring to take the planet over. This movie was so much fun. The cast is awesome and includes David Carradine (Kung Fu, Kill Bill and Death Race), Richard Roundtree (Shaft), Michael Moriarty (Courage Under Fire & Pale Rider) and Candy Clark (American Graffiti). The special effects felt like they were taken from legend Ray Harryhausen (they weren’t but they were of that quality) and I loved them (think Clash of the Titans). Overall this movie is far from perfect but when else will you see Shaft eaten by a dragon on a skyscraper? Neva. I strongly recommend this and give it a 7/10 due to entertainment value.Read More
