Alice Klieg (Kristen Wiig) has borderline mental issues under the care of Dr. Moffet (Tim Robbins). Her best friend from childhood is Gina Selway (Linda Cardellini). She’s still friends with her ex-husband Ted Thurber (Alan Tudyk) and his gay partner. She wins $86 million in the lottery and uses it to start her own talk show like her idol Oprah. TV producer Rich Ruskin (James Marsden) eagerly takes her $15 million to put on a show by his failing company.

This is quirky but not funny. It’s not dark enough to be a black comedy. I almost want her to be much more disturbed. This is basically her being quietly weird while everybody stands around watching her. Other than James Marsden, nobody is truly doing anything interesting and there are some great actors here. There are also foreseeable problems that people are going sue this program. These people are suppose to be professionals who had done this for a long time. Either Gabe or Deb needs to bring up these problems. This would build up their dislike of the show and give some of these characters some colors. This movie either has to be actually funny or actually truly dark.Read More
